The Zircon R1 Series is a high-performance M.2 2280 SSD launched in February 2023, aimed at consumer markets. The drive is available in capacities ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB, with the 512 GB variant being a popular choice. It uses a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface and adheres to the NVMe 1.3 protocol, ensuring fast data transfer speeds. The SSD is built with 112-layer TLC NAND flash from Kioxia, managed by the MaxioTech MAP1202A-F1C Cougar controller. Despite lacking a DRAM cache, the drive employs a pseudo-SLC cache to enhance write speeds.
